Gemba Kaizen is a science in Japan. It is all about continuous improvement in the workplace of the Japanese as they try to remove waste, perform housekeeping, and standardize processes. This has been extremely successful for many organizations in Japan such as at Toyota, that the West is now trying to implement such ideas in their own organizations. However, these ideas take time and therefore people need to be patient but are we really patient enough?

In this lesson, we discuss with the client about:

  • What is Gemba Kaizen
  • How does Gemba Kaizen work
  • Can Gemba Kaizen be implement in your workplace
  • Discuss the article – takeaways, agree/disagree, and etc.

ESL Business Teacher Articles: Ownership

Ownership is very important. It helps define what we take responsibility for. When it comes to the workplace, there tends to be a lot of finger pointing and not enough ownership. If we assign someone to do the task and they fail, we blame them for failing rather than ourselves. Many would agree this is a correct assessment. However, US Navy Seals would disagree.

In this lesson, we discuss with the client about:

  • What ownership means to the Navy SEALs
  • How much responsibility a person has
  • How to improve success in the office place
  • Discuss the article – takeaways, agree/disagree, and etc.
